Governor Justice is proudly pro-life and believes all Americans, including women and unborn babies, deserve the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. West Virginians for Life honored and recognized him for signing more pro-life bills into law than any governor in state history, including legislation that stops nearly all abortions in West Virginia.

Governor Justice recognizes that abortion is the symptom of a bigger problem. Tragically, many women choose abortion because they feel like they have no other option.

Governor Justice believes we need a stronger safety net to allow women to choose life, whether having the material support, emotional support, childcare, and educational opportunities to raise their baby or making it easier to put their baby up for adoption. West Virginia has led this issue – providing $1 million to pregnancy resource centers and increasing the adoption tax credit. 

Jim Justice applauded the Supreme Court’s courageous Dobb’s decision and, as Governor, was proud to sign legislation that would stop abortion and protect babies who survived attempted abortion.  

Jim Justice believes abortion policy should be set closest to the people, but there should be reasonable federal limits on late-term abortion when babies can feel pain. National Democrats’ position that abortion-on-demand up to the moment of birth at taxpayer expense should be mandated at the federal level is radical and out of touch with West Virginia values.
