Charleston, W.Va. – The West Virginia Manufacturers Association, through its Political Action Committee, the West Virginians for Manufacturing Jobs PAC, the voice of manufacturing in the Mountain State, has endorsed Governor Jim Justice in the Republican Primary for the U.S. Senate in West Virginia.
“West Virginia has seen massive political changes in recent years, and it is critical that we elect candidates that understand the importance of manufacturing in the Mountain State and its direct connection to the livelihoods of West Virginians. We believe that by electing [Jim Justice], West Virginia will be in the best position to continue future economic development and create opportunities that not only allow our citizens to remain here but also attract new residents to our state,” said Bill Bissett, President of the West Virginia Manufacturers Association.
Governor Justice welcomed the endorsement, saying, “It’s an honor to be endorsed by the West Virginia Manufacturers Association. During my time as Governor, we have seen nearly $10 billion in business investment in West Virginia along with thousands of new jobs. So many great companies, from Nucor, Proctor & Gamble, Form Energy, Commercial Metals Company, and West Virginia Methanol—the list goes on and on of companies and jobs that have located here or are expanding.”
According to the West Virginia Manufacturers Association, West Virginia manufacturers employ over 45,000 employees, with an average annual compensation of over $75,000 per manufacturing worker.
“In the U.S. Senate, I’ll fight for our manufacturing workers against the craziness in Washington. Our people want to work, and I am not going to let the bureaucrats and liberals in Washington stand in the way of good manufacturing jobs in West Virginia,” concluded Governor Justice.
In addition to the West Virginia Manufacturers Association, Governor Jim Justice is the only Donald Trump-endorsed America First conservative Republican candidate for the U.S. Senate in West Virginia. He is also endorsed by West Virginians for Life, the West Virginia Coal Association, and the West Virginia Sheriffs’ Association.
