Governor Justice’s vision and leadership resulted in record investment in tourism, state parks, and tourism-industry businesses and has broken tourism records year after year
Charleston, W.Va. – The West Virginia Hospitality & Travel Association (WVHTA) PAC, the official voice of the food service industry, lodging, convention and visitors bureaus, and travel industries across West Virginia, has endorsed Governor Jim Justice in the Republican Primary for the U.S. Senate.
“Governor Jim Justice has been an absolute champion of the hospitality and tourism industry over the past eight years, and the West Virginia Hospitality & Travel Association (WVHTA) PAC proudly endorses him for the U.S. Senate,” said WVHTA Executive Director Richie Heath.
Governor Justice welcomed the endorsement, saying, “I’m so thankful for this endorsement from the West Virginians on the frontline driving our record-setting tourism growth in West Virginia year after year. Increasing tourism has been one of my top priorities as Governor since the beginning of my term. All we needed to do was show the world what we already knew we had in West Virginia, and now we are an international tourism destination.”
Since Governor Jim Justice took office, the tourism industry in West Virginia has grown over $1 billion annually. The industry now supports more than 53,000 West Virginia jobs, one out of every 16 in the state, and accounts for nearly $2 billion in annual income.
Heath continued, “Tourism has been a top priority for Governor Justice and his administration. As a result, West Virginia has seen record numbers and visitation in every region of the state. WVHTA and our members look forward to working together and continuing this momentum as Governor Justice gets to work in the U.S. Senate.”
“In the U.S. Senate, I’ll work non-stop to continue the growth of our tourism industry in West Virginia. Our national recreation areas, scenic rivers and trails, and the New River Gorge National Park and Preserve are vital to our economy and local job creation, as well as sharing the beauty and hospitality of West Virginia,” concluded Justice.
In addition to the West Virginia Hospitality & Travel Association, Governor Jim Justice is the only Donald Trump-endorsed America First conservative Republican candidate for the U.S. Senate in West Virginia.
Governor Jim Justice is endorsed by West Virginians for Life, the West Virginia Coal Association, the West Virginia Business & Industry Council, the West Virginia Manufacturers Association, and the West Virginia Sheriffs’ Association. He is the ONLY candidate to receive an NRA A+ rating, the highest rating possible of any candidate, in the Republican Primary for the U.S. Senate in West Virginia.
